Jong Hwang, who wrote and directed “The Old Son”, is a young passionate filmmaker, recently graduated from California Institute of the Arts. He studied history at Seoul National University and worked in Korean film industry before coming to CalArts. - The Old Son is his thesis film for an MFA degree. Jong is strong at dealing with melodramas and black comedies. - - His directing and writing credits include: Military Tango (short film/2002@Seoul,Korea), Visitor (short film/2004@CalArts, USA), The Marriage (one-act theater play/2005@CalArts, USA). Military Tango was invited to 7 film festivals including 2003 Resfest. -
